Ah, bonuses.
Right; it's not that the Zenith V could ever be considered preferable to either golem, my point is that it's actually in the same ballpark stat-wise.  This seems wrong ;)

@chemical_art: congratulations :) ... Though I'm a little confused why it's posted in this thread, since I thought we were going for more gratuitous slaughter of those helpless AI non-home command stations ;)

Oh fine, I'll load up the previous save and start going on sprees.  ;)

I understand, I'm not disputing that. I'm just saying it is like you are paying for one in cost in addition to the golem like performance, so things need to be adjusted accordingly.

Oh yea, the m+c cost on the IV/V starships is... intense.  But you can actually rebuild them if they die, and they don't cost AIP (directly, compared to golems medium) or exos.  Compared to those, m+c cost is pretty minor.

Bah, I'll make a new one.

The poor galaxy is going to explode as I pull up the most destructive combo I know of for high AIP games.

Hello autobombs and nenzul nanoswarms.

That's not a space dock, that's a weapon.

Yeah, but they are still quite inferior in performance, and it is not like their own structure itself cannot be knocked out.

Another idea though to approach this would be to modify their fabricator amounts / placements.

Leave the current amount of the "bonus" ship fabs, but just have one "normal" core fabricator. Heck, make the normal core fab seed similar to spire archive logic, so that you get a very powerful toy...if you can deal with the consequences.

If you were going to do that (seed them near the homeworlds), I'd vote for seeding two, one next to each. However... I'd like some clarity as to what you mean by Core and normal Fabricators.

The 6.013 patch notes refer to Snipers, Shredders as Core Fabs, but if I recall correctly the game doesn't. The galaxy map filter lists three kinds of fabs, but the wiki currently refers to only two types; experimental and core.

If you're proposing things like vampire claws get stuck next to AI Homeworlds, I'd be against that.

I presume you're proposing this change with regards to Starship Fabs get moved there. I'm neither for nor against that, haven't grabbed MKV starships yet, but I might have one lined up in my "AIP Stress Test" game. If we were going to do this, I'd wonder where the "Beam Starship" and "Warbird Starship" fit in the scheme of things. Is the "Beam Starship" even relevant, if not redundant?

Without considering all the balance concerns, I'd be quite amused to have the entire set of MKV starship fabs located on each homeworld. Incentive enough not to take them out simultaneously? Well, rationally, no. In terms of toys to play with, it'd be quite tempting.

I wasn't being clear.

The only fabricators that would be moved are the starships that you can already build. Such as Parasites, Zenith, and Spire V's. Two I think would be better, one seeded near each AI HW. All other fabricators would not be effected.

The reason I suggest it is that pre V's, I really don't see a problem with the starships. IV's are strong too, but require K to unlock and to defend their factory. V's though...I understand the situation, but rather then nerf them all I'd think making their fabricators higher risk would pay off.

Do Dark Spire count as a superweapon?

No, though causing a zombie apocalypse is kind of like a mkIII nuke or intentional cpu-melting: honorable mention, but not exactly what I'm looking for ;)  Still, seeing how much of the AI you can destroy while placing the galaxy under the thumb of the new Dark Spire Overlords would be interesting.

Shouldn't the objective be how many systems you can CAPTURE, not just destroy?

I'm actually just curious how many can be killed before things just go sideways from AIP.  If someone wants to try a massive simultaneous assassination (sort of the mkIII nuke without the nuke) then that'd be interesting too, though I'm guessing it would involve a painful amount of pre-neutering everything.
