UI: Bottom Button Block
« on: September 04, 2009, 12:52:13 am »
Would it be possible to add an option to use the old style bottom button block?  I found it easier to see and recognize the old buttons, they seemed more consistent with the rest of the UI, and they didn't seem as intrusive as the new one is.

The UI is still in the process of being revamped, everything will be consistent with the new block when we're done.  But the version you have is only partly updated, it's better in the version that will be out in a few minutes.  I don't plan on having switchable modes for this, though, because that involves over 300 buttons all told, and I'm not planning to maintain two sets of those...

Cool stuff -- I think you'll find them a lot more visible than in the version you were using, specifically the numbers and such but also the rest of it.  The single biggest complaint we've had has been with the quality of the graphics in the interface, so this latest prerelease really does a number on that and the end effect is far more attractive.  I think it's just as usable at this stage, if not moreso, as well; the colors have more contrast and should be easier to see, etc, etc.  Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you think when you get a chance.
