Thank You
« on: September 04, 2009, 01:21:58 am »
This is just a major kudos to all the hard work that goes into making AI War the awesome game that it is now.  Especially between the last two major releases, we've noticed substantial performance increases which (although we have not had the opportunity to play with the performance boosts in depth) can only enhance our gaming experience.

Keep up the great work!  ;D

Thanks, Kal!  That means a lot.  You guys have been testing the limits of the performance with huge numbers of ships in your overlong game on a large map on a moderately low-spec host, so that's been an interesting challenge for me.  There's lots more goodness in store, including hopefully something which will really boost the performance even more (this may not happen for a couple of weeks, not sure), so stay tuned! :)

Is this the combining of ships mentioned in the quick tweak list?  That's definitely one way to group queries.  ;)  We'll definitely be looking forward to that one.  ;D

That's the one!  It would be more than just grouping queries, it would lessen the effective ship count (internal to the game) on a given planet, potentially giving as much as a 5x boost in speed if I can do it right.  We shall see, it is not super simple but it's on the quick tweak list because I want to do it sooner than later. :)
