Hmm, this is an interesting suggestion -- what do all the regulars here think? Right now it seems that about 75% of all the posts in this forum are about feature requests or bug reports, so that would kind of empty out this forum (and separate the discussion of requested features from the prereleases to which they are commonly related), but on the other hand it would make it easier for people to see just strategy discussion here.
Of course, whether people would really honor the separation once it existed is another good question... I'm interested in hearing what people think about this, I think the idea is intriguing but I also have my reservations. I'm happy to go with whatever the majority wants.
As for the list of suggestions you have already, lay them on me! I'm the sole developer, and I keep a list offline of stuff that is "to-do," stuff that is "maybe," and stuff that is for future expansions (either the first or the second). I pretty much already have enough ideas to fill out about 1.5 expansions, but I'm not yet certain which features will go into which expansions, particularly since ideas are still coming in. In the end, I expect to do at least two expansions, but I'll do more if there's just too much content (and, to a degree, the first two expansions might just get even bigger based on player ideas).
Then, of course, there is also a lot of stuff that I'm already adding in the meantime, as part of the ongoing free DLC. When suggestions come in, I put them into one of my three categories based on a variety of factors, but mostly stuff that goes for the expansions is stuff that is either nice to have but not super needed right up front, is a large amount of work to code and test (too much for a week-long cycle), or falls under a few expansion-only categories of new features (new bonus ship classes for the docks, new AI styles, etc, are to be expansion-only).
Hope that helps, and for everyone else who sees this, please weigh in with your feelings about having a separate forum. Thanks!
