engineers not FRD mode when they're grouped

I'm not sure this is the cforrect behaviour or not. But i have engineers set to auto FRD mode under the CTRL options. However, if i group them and bring them to other galaxies, they won't remember they need to auto FRD.

is this a bug?

Auto-FRD only works on your planets, not on enemy/neutral/allied planets, by design.  Generally speaking if you have stuff in FRD on enemy planets it will just get chopped up.  Is that what you mean?

yes, they get chopped up because they stay idle. But what i wanted was to make them go into FRD even though I'm not in my planets, so that it works like a mobile repair ship. I always bring engineers with me to heal my ships

If you press the FRD button (V iirc) when ordering a unit into another system it will stay in FRD mode.

that is to say, you V+rightclick on a system in the galaxy map.

Indeed, or V+Ctrl+Rightclick on a WH.
