I got now time to finally check out the new version with the added tutorial bits. I really like the way you did the tutorial texts and the colour coding.  :)

Some things I noticed during the session:

- It might be helpful to explain in short the meaning of the colours when mentioning the minimap.
- I noticed the 2 red circles when hovering the cursor over the enemy ships and I imagine new players may be confused of what they mean.
- It might be beneficial to add an extra tab in the logbook solely for the tutorial messages. That way new players don't need to spend much time to look things up again. After all, there are tons of events recorded there and I'm still in the early stage.  ;)
- The smuggling mission is now pretty hard, considering that my weapons feel like they scratch only the paint of the enemy ships and turrets.

On the solar map I did now 3 smuggling missions like the tutorial suggested and I think it might be appropriate to add at this point the next advice of what to do next in terms of activities...

The exact requirements of establishing the federation should be provided once the federation options are unlocked. After all, the goal is to get there by removing the obstacles one by one. However, currently I'm still in the dark about those obstacles. One example is when are the Andors or Skylaxians willing to join?  ;)

The tech raid mission at least at the beginning (no idea how the mission might be at later stages) is very easy. The Acutians had a few techs and it got a bit tedious doing the exact same mission that often. I'd love to have the ability to select more than 1 tech instead of having to do the same mission e.g. 5 times in a row. Of course, cost should adjust accordingly and perhaps capture time as well (since it takes longer to copy all the data files  ;) )

About the RCI, are there benefits to have them above 0 (except the added buffer before negative events happen)? If so then the tooltips should mention these too. Currently, only effects below 0 are mentioned.

Playing through a bit with the tutorials. They help, for sure. A couple of things I had issues with:

1. I still feel directionless on the solar map once I stop smuggling to people I feel like getting into space. Did that 2 or 3 times. After that I flew around a bit doing things like stealing technology from the Actuans and encouraging others to trade it with each other. Also did a research dispatch mission, which took quite a while. Then the black market opened, so I hired some scientists and did another one (much faster).

But I'm kind of not really sure what I should be doing. I'm basing decisions on things that either give me influence, or give me a tech. A bit more direction here might be helpful, or maybe I just need to experiment more.

2. Once I got the event notifications unlocked, I got a couple that said people were building outposts. That text suggested I could take those outposts if I wanted to do something with them (and the black market had security goons for hire to guard them). I can't see how to do that. Is it unlocked later?

3. What can I do with captured pilots other than sell them as slaves (don't want to do that)?


(Probably worth mentioning that while I've looked in game for answers to these questions, I haven't done a huge amount of experimenting. Anytime I get confused like this and don't see the information being conveyed clearly, I mention it. So I'm not trying to be deliberately obtuse. :) )
