Phoenix Forest Bonus Levels (might contain spoilers)?

Hi all.

I have a question. I played trough Phoenix Forest and Stantonsburg in .808 and failed to locate the remaining two Phoenix Forest bonus levels (beside Forsaken Home). Are these supposed to be *that* hidden? Or is their appearance related to achieving Gold in a number of levels around Phoenix Forest first? Do I have to come back after them even later in the game? Just asking for the general direction/mechanisms concerning bonus levels here - just want to make sure there I am no blockhead ...

Sorry, I meant to respond to this in the other thread.

Basically, there is a second bonus level hidden IN the forsaken home level.  If you've gotten the bonus gold on that level, then you've found the sublevel with the portal to the foggy neighborhood bonus level.

And... the third bonus level is actually a lie, sorry about that.  I'll take care of that bug today.

Wait, there was a bonus level IN the bonus level?   And here I'd thought I was being pretty vigilant about looking for hidden stuff, but I definitely missed that one.  That's a very devious type of hiding spot.

So, is there a way to tell if I've missed a bonus level in a given region?  I did one in Stantonburg, the one with the pits, but I cant tell if there's another somewhere, or if that really was all of them....


The bonus levels are definitely a good thing though, and a pleasant surprise to find.    I'm liking that this game really seems to have quite alot of content to it in general.

Oh yeah, there's tons of content.  Nearly 100 levels; I'm not sure how many actual subscreens.  And you can tell if there are more bonus levels or not by hitting G or clicking the goals button in a given overworld.  Though the stantonsburg one seems to be lying and saying there is one more than there really is at the moment...
