I was thinking more about PC. I'm looking for a game for my 4 years old to play. He likes gemcraft, but it's to complex for him yet (the concept of combining gems, that some gems are better than others, etc), so I thought that he might like tetris. If you have any other good suggestion in terms of games for kids I'd like to hear them. We already enjoyed plants vs zombies (he was "playing" it since he was 2, now it got old a bit) and some "office" game called Virtual City.

Hey, I was playing Harpoon and Legend Of Zelda when I was his age! ;D Sadly I'm not an expert on PC games a younger person could enjoy, but let's see... Hmm... You can always play Tetris right on their website over at http://www.tetrisfriends.com/ . Also, if you're into running older games, they have The Incredible Machine over at GoG.com http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/the_incredible_machine_mega_pack and I hear many many stories of kids playing Terraria and Minecraft and having a blast with them (Which makes sense really, virtual Legos and all).

My favourite tetris was Blockout back then. It was 3D. Same as starts! it does not run on Windows 7 now without immense amount of trickery.

And another game from back then, that I loved was lemmings! Sheesh! I'm old! I actually even played it on an XP box a couple of years ago.

Also a good pick, but weirdly not on the PC in a recent flavor, though there is a PSP/PS3 port.

I don't really like Tetris. :P

I find I end up not liking a lot of puzzle games other people adore and where they find them addictive, I'm tired of them in about 10 minutes. No desire whatsoever to look at them again.

It's probably telling that I prefer games with a strong story/cast of characters in it. The only time I'll like puzzle games is if I feel like I have a lot of freedom to be creative or think outside the box.

One thing that frustrates me at times in tetris is that you can never win. I generally don't like games under slogan "losing is fun". You can't win at tetris. These blocks are going to fall with inhumane speed and you will just have no time to react. You will loose the game.

Sounds like someone never cleared 200 lines.
