Personally, no one deserves to be stolen from. Not even the Man. And yes, I know the man steals from others. That doesn't make it right.

You're right, it doesn't make it right.  I'm just past caring about the honest exchange of goods and services in a society that rewards the biggest thieves and con men of them all. 

I'm not saying you should steal, but if you HAVE TO STEAL, at least steal from the people who deserve it

I think it's important to remember that scum can be found in basically any walk of life.  Corporate executives and politicians and such often have some of the best opportunities to show it in spectacular fashion, but they don't have a monopoly on scumness (indeed, as you've pointed out before, there's a strong correlation between a lack of reasonable-living-conditions and certain forms of pathological behavior).  That's one reason why simply shuffling the old power-holders out and new power-holders in often doesn't work out so well

Yeah the difference is that the corporate scammers steal billions, the amateur key scammers steal thousands, though if the roles were reversed, who's to say they wouldn't do the same?

I guess I'm too idealistic to expect all people who steal to be Robin Hood.

There was some discussion on the key theft on youtube comments of all places, about how it was actually worse than piracy. People had legitimately suggested that if you're thinking about buying an illegitimate key, you should just pirate the game instead. That way you aren't risking actually causing the developers to lose money. All you're doing is causing them to not make money.
It's just such an awful thing to do not because big companies "deserve it" more of that the big companies can take the hit. Small companies can't. It's devastating to them.

In general my priorities on this particular topic are (in descending order) :
1) Not getting yelled at by other people.
2) Not feeling "winning is more important than having fun" pressure from other people.
3) Having access to a decent challenge that lasts a while (so bots with a difficulty slider that goes up high enough, for example).
4) Optional but nice: Being able to walk away from the game in the middle with no notice without annoying anyone (I have a three-year-old and a five-year-old; they have an amazing ability to time crises with the last part of an online match)

So my guess is that your proposed solution would satisfy 1, 2, and 4, but not 3

With the exception of a server or two (There's no reporting players, so occasionally you'll get some bad apples) I've found the game to be immensely friendly and pleasant to play. I even had one game where a guy complained about one of the new players on our team and then immediately apologized for being rude and thanked him for playing the game. Maybe I'm just very tuned into people being hyper aggressive from my LoL days, but I've rarely had a game that wasn't fun. Plus the game satisfies your priorities quite well. Leaving mid match usually doesn't matter at all, and most of the people I've played with are more about enjoying the match than anything.
