Yep, pretty much.

Normally, whenever I repeat my various stories of things that happened in regards to my own experiences with that community, like the guy that screamed and launched a controller at the wall, or other things, I always get the impression that in most cases people think I'm A: making it up, or B: exaggerating.   Or, perhaps C:, that it's an isolated incident and surely the community as a whole isnt THAT bad.   But nope.  Everything I've said about that group is true, much to my own incredible disappointment.  As such, I'm glad I've now found that video, since it really..... shows the problems pretty well, with some good examples.

Just boggles the mind as to how damn childish some of them get.  And that's just the stuff you see at events.  Just try having CONVERSATIONS with these people.  I'll just say.... I dont do that anymore.

Mostly though I hate dealing with them in person.  Makes me paranoid.  What with knowing how violent they can be, and me not exactly being physically imposing or strong or big.  That wouldnt end well, though I could probably bolt out of there pretty damn fast if needed.  Maybe.

Normally though, if I'm competing against any directly..... I just dont talk, really.  "Hi" and "good game" is about the most I'll say.  Safer that way.   Probably.

Either way though, it's horrible all around.  I think fighting games as a whole end up sorta getting more flak than they otherwise would if it wasnt for the community acting that way, same as with Dota and the other games in that genre.

At least the Dota professionals ACT as professionals. But seeing this I have the feeling they are all immature teenagers on the inside.

I think part of it is that, to do well as a team, you *have* to get past the immaturity and actually act like a responsible adult.  In fighting games, you can go into it as a shrieking ball of anger and still perform just fine.   But you cant really do that in team games, unless you really like losing.   Everything I've seen of the pro teams in this genre (or even teams that arent pros, but are just very good) is that nobody really acts like a jackass.... most of the time.   There's probably still incidents, but they dont happen every bloody time.  Each team learns to be at least somewhat mature, or they just cant really get anywhere.

Of course, you can have behind-the-scenes drama, which typically happens WITHIN a given team, but that's a whole other matter entirely.
