Strange issues with first spell slot and left click ingame

I've run into a very strange issue. I have a Steelseries Xai laser mouse, with up to date drivers. Upon launching AVWW, the menu, options, and all that jazz appear to recognize my left click

However, when going ingame, any spell in the first slot of the spell bar is used repeatedly and automatically, with no user input by me. I've literally unbound all keyboard and mouse commands to the first spell slot, and it just keeps casting away

Furthermore, I cannot seem to actually bind my left click to any spell slot and have it register. For example, here in this screenshot, you can see that I have bound left click to the second spell slot. Left clicking, however, does nothing! It doesn't cast, it doesn't do anything, and I simply do not understand why. Right and middle mouse buttons do fine, just not left

What is going on?

Uh, yeah, I'm aware. Unpausing it produces the issues previously mentioned. What does that have to do with anything?

Does anyone have an answer for this weirdness?

Probably this is a matter of a gamepad being plugged in and giving input, or something similar.  I would make sure that all the gamepad buttons and axes are unbound from that particular action slot.

You appear to be correct x4000. The error was a gamepad's control stick axis bound to the ability, and apparently it was tilted just so it would keep doing it over and over again

For reasons I will never truly understand, that also seems to have fixed the left click issue. Perhaps the controller's axis activation was overriding the click, and as the activation appeared to be continuous, the left click couldn't be heard over the noise, so to speak
