Incoming Waves
« on: October 06, 2017, 08:18:29 pm »
After playing some lately I realized that part of the feeling of classic that I think is missing is that incoming waves don't immediately come through one of your world's wormholes to attack you.  Instead they come through a warp gate and then are added to the threat fleet.

I am thinking that they should attack immediately and have similar behavior to how waves carried on in classic afterwards(e.g. retreat, push the attack).  Does anyone else think this would be preferable behavior or do you think the current mechanic is good?

The waves right now are much more similar to the Cross-Planet waves setting. That was one of the things I commented on at one point for one of my large "list of things that need work" lists here: https://forums.arcengames.com/ai-war-ii/ai-war-2-v0-520-released!-'formations'/msg216223/#msg216223

I agree that it was fun to know where the AI waves were going to hit you so you had to rush and get your defenses there. I think the old behaviour should at least be available as an option for AI War 2.
