Fleet Line Too Full For Hack

I just started a game went through all the tutorials and something that isn't discussed at all is fleet line research.
I've gone to an AI planet and hacked for one of their fleet blueprints; then went to the second and apparently I cannot steal the AI technology on ship design there because and I quote 'An ARS cannot grant more than 6 ship lines' it is apparently running 7 but I've only allocated 3 slots.
How are you suppose to remove ship lines so you can change fleet load outs and steal technology?

The closest assault flagship to the ARS does the hack. As such, obtain a second flagship first, or, if you already have one, move it closer to the ARS.


Past that, at any time, go to the fleet tab, and select one of the fleets. At the bottom, it lists the ship lines, and you can click and swap them with any other fleet you have.

There are some bugfixes in this area in the next patch that should fix this; hopefully tomorrow or friday it will be released.
