AI War Beta 5.019 (Minor Bugfix) Released!
« on: October 05, 2011, 12:02:49 pm »
Original: http://arcengames.blogspot.com/2011/10/ai-war-beta-5019-minor-bugfix-released.html

This one is too small to warrant a name for the release.  However, it does fix on divide by zero error that is well worth getting a fix into your hands for post-haste.

Enjoy!

This is a standard update that you can download through the in-game updater itself, if you already have 4.000 or later. When you launch the game, you'll see the notice of the update having been found if you're connected to the Internet at the time.  If you don't have 4.000 or later, you can download that here.

Yay, now I can feel free to use attritioners again. :)

Sadly, I'm probably going to have to restart my current game, thanks to very bad handling of my economy up until now in my current game, leaving me too weak to deal with an oncoming exo-wave.

Thank god you prevented the math police from arresting you (and causing AI wars to be discontinued as a result)

They arrest anyone who tries to use a function outside it's domain, such as divide by zero, or similar.

Aw man, I just realized we missed the opportunity for some great divide by zero jokes. Like ZOMG, the attritioners are dividing by zero, they will screw with the space-time continuum! (Which ironically was true, as the game cycle stops processing once the error is thrown, thus effectively freezing time in a certain subset of the galaxy)

that should be added to the tooltip: attritioners damage enemies by messing with spacetime.
It's just carriers all the way down!

Could we use the divide by zero to crash the AI and win? :)

Just a friendly reminder that 5.020 does have changes lined up in it currently.
