Turret and Ship Range
« on: July 10, 2009, 10:17:37 am »
I am sure this is a silly question, but how do I view the range of a placed turret, ship, or station?

When placing a turret, there is a circle around it that displays its coverage area.  But clicking on the turret after it has been placed does not re-display this area.  Is there a way to do this?  It would be handy to know when placing additional turrets as to what area is already covered by the existing turrets.

It would be nice to see this same information for ships and battlestations as well.  If I could click on an AI fortress and see its coverage area, I would then know how much distance I need to keep from it.

I hope that makes sense.

Welcome to the forums!  Indeed, there is a feature for this!

To see the range of all ships that you have selected, or which your mouse cursor is over, just hold down the Z key.  This works when you mouseover enemy ships, too.  If you want to see all enemy ranges, hold down Z+X.

Hope that helps!

Wow.  That was a fast response.

I'll try this when I get home tonight.

Thanks!
