It happened. My family now loves AI War.

Though I have tried a couple times to play with my dad and sister in coop together in past, it has always been kinda a meh experience for them. They didn't "get it". My dad struggled with the interface (lots of new stuff to learn), and my sister is just completely incompetent and gets herself killed the moment a wave appears.

But this time, it was different. We started at about 8pm. I worked hard to help my dad understand the game and get going. He started rolling and enjoying himself quickly.

My sister? We stuck her in the champion role, which she took with glee. Not only can she sit back and not do anything whenever she feels like it (she likes to do that in many games), but she can also do those side quests. I quickly got her into the first side quest area a system away from my homeworld. She had an absolute blast! It was the three way battle and completely engrossed her attention for a while hour (while me and my dad played the real game :P)

We decided to play the Fallen Spire campaign, which I think helped my dad understand things better, as it is more... straightforward than the classic game.

At quarter to three in the morning we finally called it quits for the night. We had that much fun.

Progress so far: First City built. Second shard close to being ready to be grabbed. My sister is level 11 and in a destroyer. She can't wait to get to the next sidequest. (Really, that is all she wants to do, she isn't really interested in helping us battle the Exo waves.  ::))

All of us cannot wait for our next play session.

Haha, for once that feature actually fulfills the intended goal!  One of them, at least ;)
