Noob saying Hi

Hello everyone,

Just thought I would drop in to say hi.

I read about AI Wars when it popped up on my steam account and so I looked into it.  I was going to try the demo first but before doing so I read the forums and saw what a work of passion and love it was for X4000.  When I saw that, after also reading a few reviews, I went ahead and bought it without trying the demo.  I am an avid PC Gamer and love nothing more than seeing developers make quality products without the support of the big name companies, in other words just doing that which our hobby was founded upon.

Suffice to say I am very pleased with my decision :)  I have been playing the tutorial and cannot believe how fun this is.  I have a fleet of close to 600 ships, and am loving taking it into enemy planets, letting the missiles fly, building turrents around wormholes and I haven't even got out of the tutorial yet!!!

I am a terrible strategy gamer, decent fps gamer, like a good RPG like BG 2 or Wizardry, and try to find unique or challenging games that are clearly a labor of love.  AI War is just that game.  As I read about the latest controversy surrounding the big boy on the block Modern Warfare 2, I sit back, make a cup of tea, and generally couldn't care less because I am having a blast sticking it to the AI in AI War.

I'm sure it will prove to be a great investment even in the future!  There's also an expansion coming out, and you can try out the trial, or buy it in advanced!

It's always great to have another member for the community, welcome! If you ever need strategy tips, there's plenty of people in the Strategy subforum willing to help (myself included), and feel free to throw out your 2 cents on what you think should go in the game in the Suggestions subforum.
