commandos don't fulfill their role, but at least they don't die faster then the other younglings now (although still being pricy)

I don't know about anyone else but the Zenith starship and the Spire starship just seem too costly knowledge wise and just don't seem that impressive for the human players. I never ever research these ships as i would rather spend the knowledge on a MK III fleet ship or two instead. I would rather get the damage boost from more ships than a very costly starship that doesn't do much damage really.

Yea, I would agree that their "rebalance" sort of nerfed them rather than helped them. In fact, as I have mentioned many times before, K costs for military starships are too high in general compared to fleet ships. I'd say, either rebalance the military starships overall (using the plasma seige and the raid starships as guidelines for good Mk. I starship usability), and review their knowledge costs for Mk. II and Mk. III versions.

As for the Zenith and Spire starships, I don't really think they can be truly fixed until they are split into their own lines (aka, a fleet starship line, a zenith starship line, and a spire starship line) which can be balanced individually and be given their own "personality", sort of like what they had before, but not locked to higher tiers (and thus higher knowledge costs)

EDIT: In fact, can I nominate military starships (with the previously mentioned exceptions of plasma seige and raid) overall? And also nominate all military Mk. II (except for fleet ship Mk. II) and Mk. III military starships?

Which one? The fleet starship line? Or a balance pass for all of the military starships?

Alright, now that I'm concious again, I'll have to vote for Armor Rotter and Infiltrators.  I fear up-voting infiltrators though.  I've seen what they can do to defenses in the AI's hands, even if they're crap for the player as a raider.  Simply giving them a speed boost, though, would be enough I think for player improvement without over-balancing them to the AI.

I'd still like to see Zenith Caches get a once over for the price of popping them.
... and then we'll have cake.

fleet starships are the only one that stands out. Aside from maybe a 2x structural bonus for the bomber, I think the rest are fine. Raiders raid well, siege guns are like siege weapons, cloaking ships are good, enclaves are good.

Ok, then, let me summarize my nominations so far (my rational and suggested changes have already been stated by myself, or if it hasn't, assume my rational is the same others gave)

Spire armor rotters
Armor boosters
Captive Human Settlements
Fleet Starship lines (mostly the upper levels)
Mk. II and beyond military starships (mostly the knowledge costs)
Zenith Caches
Teleport Raiders
Tachyon drone (the one you don't have to unlock)

and weak nominations for:
ether-jet tractors
Decloaker drone (the one you have to unlock) (terra-bad HP mostly)

If teleport raiders are to be considered, than regular raiders definitely need to be considered, as they are inferior to their teleporting cousins in just about every way and also inferior to similar ships of the same role.

Raiders cloak and don't have half of the things you want to raid immune to their ammo.  I'm afraid I have to disagree with that, it's not an apples to apples comparison.

Raiders don't cloak, check your facts. They don't have bonuses against anything you would want to raid. Space planes do more damage, are faster, have cloaking AND radar dampening. No self respecting player would use raiders on any difficulty past 8 with so many superior options.

I would nominate raiders too, except I have never used them, and I have never seen the AI use them, so I can't reasonably nominate them. If this is true though, it sounds like they deserve a nomination from someone who has used them.
