Next official release?
« on: June 22, 2010, 04:16:07 pm »
So, we were aiming for the 17th, then the 22nd, for the next AI War release... but things keep getting in the way (mostly Tidalis).  We're making good progress, but things just aren't at the polished state we want them to be at for a full official release.  It's also now hitting the point where the preorder phase for the AI War:CON micro-expansion is just a few weeks away (probably the second week in July), and there are certain CON-related things I'd like to have in place in the official version of the game in order to have that be as smooth as possible.

Given that's only a couple of weeks out, I think what we're going to do is just spend another couple of weeks in polish and expansion work on AI War, and then release the next official right around the same time that we are also starting the CON beta/preorder phase.

Shouldn't be a huge inconvenience to anyone, given that all the beta versions are publicly available anyway, but for those wondering when the next official update will be, now you know!

No problem.  And thanks for catching the June/July snafu, both of you -- I keep doing that, it's really annoying.  :-[

I, for one, do not care when school ends, as I am done with that, nor do I care about 4th july as I am not an american ;)

Next version will come when its ready. :)

Yep, and we're running about 3 weeks behind, as you may have noticed. But thanks for understanding!

I've been waiting for my 'open Pandora', this is peanuts in comparison ^_^ (google it if you want to know ;) ).

Also, waiting is no problem for the kind of awesomeness Arcen delivers :)

Many thanks for the heads up regardless, it's always nice to know what's going on (if only so that I have something to read when work gets too boring and I wish I was playing ai war :) ).

I gonna guess that 4.0 will most likely be after it is ported to unity with the expansion. Doubt we will see it for awhile.

well, if we don't add anything, calling this current version "official" works, i mean most people get the beta anyway, and tidalis is still busy? so i rather just wait for 4.0

After this week, we'll be working on AI War primarily again, with some Tidalis stuff mixed in.  But, things will be waaay more lively on the AI War side again starting after this next week. :)
