Cursed golem reinforcement tooltop help
« on: June 25, 2010, 04:45:39 pm »
Not understanding the difference between these two in the tooltip

3x AI reinforcement while at planet
AI reinforces when this enters AI planet x4

does the 3x occur at adjacent enemy planets, the 4x on the one its on?\

On a side note...I thought cursed golems had vampirism. seems pretty hard to keep without it

Even with a MkII and 5 MkI engies, its still degrading. Not sure if this is balanced right now.

They don't have vampirism anymore, you have to have engineers tagging along with them.

As to the question:

- "3x AI reinforcement while at planet" means that the strength of any given reinforcement to that planet is 3x larger.

- "AI reinforces when this enters AI planet x4" means that as soon as you come to that planet with the golem, the AI will immediately do 4 simultaneous reinforcements (each of which are 3x larger than usual).

So when you first arrive with a cursed golem, the AI gets the equivalent of 12 normal reinforcement cycles right instantly.  Then as you fight, if it does more reinforcement cycles while you are still there, each one it does is 3x larger than usual until the golem leaves.  It doesn't affect adjacent planets.

That clears it up, thanks.

And as for the negative regen rate...with my MkII and 5 MkI engies on it, it was still losing. Seemed excessive to me, as that costs a LOT and this golem is not particularly powerful (3x shot).

It's definitely expensive, yeah.  It's possible it may need some balancing in the next cycle again, for sure.

would having the golem on a warp jammer do anything and defete the waves? or will the ai send CPA as it cant warp thus having x4 CPA? or would it not as it cant as it not on the planet? i yust dn
AI War - even the smallest units can make all the difference no matter how weak they are still quite capable of taking the hits. if it can Kill and receive damage then it worth its time other wise if it cant kill and cant take the damage for the higher surviving ships then it is worthless.

Yeah, without the vampirism, I'm not sure I see any reason to use these, all they do is use a ton of energy, do about as much damage as a half dozen fleet ships, and make the AI spawn tons and tons of ships.....  And then they die, and you wonder what was so special about them....
