Missing knowledge points? 1.202B
« on: September 04, 2009, 08:42:16 pm »
I've encountered an odd bug I think (unless there's a tech that ends with 8 ): looking at my science points I noticed that I had 1,012 knowledge points with all the planets that my science stations had visited were maxed out. Unless there's a tech I purchased with a value of .... 1008 or something, this sounds like a bug. Saved game attached.

On the bright side it appears to be very little missing, so nothing game breaking.

You appear to have collected 12 knowledge points from the planet Oorye. This isn't a bug, without those points you would have a knowledge total of 2750.

EDIT: Your statistics show that you have lost a science lab. Is it possible that you accidentally ordered the lab to Oorye? Or that it could have been dragged there by Etherjet Tractors?

Oorye? Aside from some scouts I've avoided that planet - not useful for my plan. I did loose a science lab back in Ickotch (spelling? the one linking me to Oorye) when I first tried to take it, but that was sniper fire and a bad guy rush for the wormhole, not an ether jet. How did I get 12 points in Oorye?

a ether tractor dragged your station away - can happen ;)

Mhh, on second thought - that would probably have killed the station as well... but i am positive that there is no bug with the knowledge costs... this is just a odd thing ;)

Oorye has clearly been researched for a short while giving it 12 knowledge, why or how.. well that only you can know ;p

Edit: You have a really cool playstyle though - nice save  ;D

I still don't think it's an Ether Jet, especially since I haven't encountered one (I think) outside of enemy warp ins, and even so, my scientists are well guarded.

Hmm, I guess since the "missing" points are actually additional points, this would be better titled "where did my new brains come from?" :P Still odd though. Might have been that a science ship lost earlier may have gone off on its own (I've had this happen a couple times, but very rare and not for a while) and gotten its self killed at Oorye while I was managing my tele-bats - bear in mind I move my science stations, mobile builders and the 10 engineers as a single group at all times so an erroneous command to the group for Oorye would have lost them all.

HMm.. what's so cool 'bout me playstyle? Seems pretty straight forward to me.
