Hmm....how long does it for the effects of losing a command center to come into effect. Pretty sure the killer wave was announced right before or immediately after he lost his expansion.

On the 'Rude Gesture' subcommander: it always has 4 counter attack posts, but it can also pile on Shield posts and Arachnid posts, and it always puts all its guard posts in a pile around the command station, which will be one of the special command stations (possibly translocating).  I recommend ignoring those planets if you can.

Sometimes you just can't ignore a planet.

That's when two very good tactics come along:
1. Save it for later, when you are stronger
2. WARHEADS!


EMP warheads have helped me out of many a really hard planet psuedo-forced upon me by the map geometry.

Yeah, I EMP those suckers. Kill as many posts with actual guns as you can while the system is paralyzed, wipe out the ships, and if possible, the shield generator.
