I think I bought AI Wars in like 2010 or so and I played it a bit, but always found myself getting obliterated and sadly stopped afterwards.
However, I have finally came back to it after 2 years and i'm finding it quite interesting. Even though I have 2/4 expansions, I have a lot of the expansion things off and my settings are probably basic (No AI Progress after a certain amount of time because I like to spend a lot of time planning, No astro train, no golems, Level 7 AI, 40 Planets). While I only have 4 planets under my control (my home and the 3 adjacent planets) and scouted the others around them in my 2 hours, I feel like I might have a lot of fun in the coming battles and stand a cgood chance of beating the AI.
So overall, I made a thread to inform people that I am now happy with the game and realised that my main drawback with the game was the fact that I didn't think the game could accomodate my slow, drawn-out nature and would just push me until I was in a corner. But i'm glad that I have found a pacing that suits me as some RTS/Strategy games do not offer that.
Plus, I usually read all these epic RTS stories about how people play and think that I could never be as good as them, but now I don't care about being good as long as I have fun while playing my Normal Difficulty game.
So thank you, Arcen Games for being awesome and I will be sure to make everyone proud and win my ongoing battle with the Yellow and Pink Menace!
