If you need some "relative humidity' in terms of a player having a "baseline" skills but not keeping up to date on recent events (a la me in TLF) I can fill that role.

I'm sorry, with my current situation, I have_very_little idea of the day to day things. Normally a bad thing, but in these forums I have a niche!
Life is short. Have fun.

Yea, when current stuff has shaken out (maybe a week, maybe two, maybe somewhat more, not sure, we'll see) I'd like you to to take it for a spin.  At least to see if 7 is in a good spot, etc, since you've mentioned concerns that it's too hard.

I might also fill that role and would be interested in playing with you,  Keith.

So what do I do with the broken nomad beacon? I hacked it (far as I remember), captured it, repaired it, and nothing happened. I now have a 100% health broken nomad beacon.

Do you have enough energy to power it?

You need 500,000 spare energy.  In my game I'm trying to figure out how to hold off waves against Nomad 1 for the 6 more minutes it will take for the nomad to be adjacent to a homeworld so I can wtfown it in the face.

The 500k energy is the least of my concerns.  A drain on my economy, yes.  But less detrimental to my plans than a wave of 400 frigates.

That's probably the problem. Coming up with extra energy is a real problem as the Nomads are allowing AI threat to fly around to normally safe worlds and make a mess. So I need more turrets than usual, and they just cripple energy.

Going to have to unlock some econ stations I think.

Okay, I got enough power to reactivate the Nomad Beacon. Now I'm getting constant exos due to "Nomad Beacon on AI World."

Except it's on my world. The exos are appearing in the same system as the beacon, as well. It's super wonky.

edit - I put it on my homeworld, and the AI is now launching exos that appear on my homeworld every minute. Is that supposed to happen?

Are you sure you have the latest patch?  7.041 was supposed to have fixed that.

7.044, no update showing.

Here's a save where it happens. Just ignore everything else that's going on, when that started I kind of stopped dealing with other stuff (plus this game is hilariously high AIP because I'm playing with stuff).

The nomad will get to my homeworld in under a minute.

Odd about it still treating the human HW as an AI HW; thanks for the save, will take a look tomorrow morning.

Something odd I noticed.

Are things supposed to be able to have 0% HP? I figured maybe powerslavers used the HP of their "slaves" when attacking or something but after two minutes of firing the HP percents were still the same.

In over a week of testing, I haven't found a single thing wrong with DoW. I'll attribute that to the high level of craftsmanship rather than my being too busy having fun to spot anything.

A third potential cause comes to mind: compared to the antics of your game-in-progress, an expansion to just about any mature product looks spotless :)
