Real Meaning of "AI Progress" ???

Hi there

I want to know more about the "AI Progress" whats its real meaning ?
I need this to decide to use more warheads or if this is to dangerous oO :-)
BTW iam not a freind of AOE like warheads but at some points its nice :-)

so the AI Progress ... if it increase the AI uses higher MK ships in wave and to build ...

now my questions:

does it also improve ther buildings to higher MK levels ??
and the more important question does the AI Progress effect anythink in ther behavior ? more agression ? bigger waves ? more ships ?

or does it "only" improve their MK levels they use

It improves everything that the AI reinforces and sends in waves.  Not existing ships, but anything new that is added.  It also causes more to be added, even before it trips up to a higher tech level.
