I love the touch of plot the events have given the game, nice going. I can't wait until they are finished. also: when you add more, will I have to start a new game? or will the event proceed as it's supposed to?

it looks like the AI is using only basic triangle ships for its fleet regardless of other settings (in mantis and with 5 games full vis I confirm)
CPA counts also affected (in mantis)

Ah, indeed, lowering the armour might be an idea.

Aye, its a nice touch. And can be expanded upone easily enough to haelots of fun things :)

I'm writing it so that it should pick up properly when loading the old save into the new version :)  Let me know if it doesn't, when y'all get 4.030.

Do the quests ever 'restart'?  I've had the unfortunate event where I was playing with a friend and was on the third mission of "safely transport artifact back to home," where I had no idea that something of the shape of a node was spawned in control for my friend (or that it even spawned) and thus it was ultimately destroyed in a cloud of a thousand or so AI units (which I say is harsh for any novice.)

Also, are the models for hybrid facilities and the above object I spoke above above to be replaced in the future?  Them all using the generic node model is rather... unappealing, and doesn't fit very well thematically.
I'd take a sea worm any time over a hundred emotionless spinning carriers.

50% more coverage? Sounds like a boost instead of a nerf. FF bearers health was never really an issue with lots of mrs in tow as it was always the few coverage gaps that killed off any of the fleet. Welp looks like they will be even more effective now.  :D

Oh btw I decided to go ahead and try to kill the first ai homeworld with just a 1000ish ship blob of fighters/bombers/ff bearers/mrs. I was literally a couple of million hp away from killing a core station under three core force fields even with the cockroach spawn of doom when I started damaging the core station. I will try again tonite by killing off the guards before I just go right for the win by killing the station. I anticipate a massive victory even though I have avengers enabled.  :)

You're dramatically underestimating the impact of that armor reduction.

Possibly. But if the current trend holds up even a massive nerf to armour is not going to keep them from doing their job to the point of near invulnerability.

If you kite the enemy you can easily keep the attrition rate to an absurdly low amount once you string them all out in a long line and then 'roll' them up by suddenly changing direction and running along the line popping ships like orvill redenbacker pops corn. Seriously, I totally steamrolled a mk V post border world to the ai core with a thousand ships. And I was just a hair away from killing off the core command station using the same force. But ok we will see when the next patch hits and I try it again off the save.  :D

Difficulty 7 with an entrenched homeworlder and the tank. I'm only doubting the effectiveness of the nerf because the outcome is so hilariously one sided atm. And as far as the effectiveness of the core defences welp those several thousand cockroaches that spawned kinda put the defence into overdrive and was the only reason I didn't kill the station. Without the latest expansion enabled I would probably have toasted it in seconds. ;p

Simply put ff bearers are the current god unit of the game. So if you play a game without them then all is well but if you play with them or unlock them its pretty much a win by default. But I will install the newest patch and load it up to see how it goes.
