unintentional side effect of removing 5x health mult:

Hybrid hives have 300k health.
Lets multiply that by 20 or so.

I am still having trouble with full capacity fleets invading the adjacent planet. I'm not sure if it's just me but is definitely not an easy thing to do.

I don't notice any change in starting force field.

Overall, however, after playing tonight I feel like things are a lot better than yesterday. If the UI was fixed up and just a little more work on balance, I think that this thing could fly. Good job guys.

Glad to hear it's going well overall!  Are you bringing starships with you, though?  It's not meant to be winnable without a mix of starships and fleet ships on your part, now...

   *  Bomber starships no longer have multiple shots. They also now have 200x higher base attack power, and no bonuses against any hull types. They also no longer deal any engine damage, and have higher engine health. Their reload speed has been halved. They are simply ultra-strong raw-damage units against any target, but with a slow reload speed.

    * Siege Starships also now have no bonuses against any other ship types, but now have 3x overall stronger attack. This solves the problem of them not being strong against starships in recent releases.
This sounds like they are becoming awfully similar (have not actually tested). Intentional?

Home human settlements and human cryogenic pods are now both immune to blade attacks.
Not quite what I had in mind when I mentioned them getting eaten by blades, but I'm not complaining ;)

Since I can't post in closed threads on the bug tracker, this is in relation to the threat that was just appearing. (Bugs 475 and 697)

I had intended to add this test to #697 but as it's been marked resolved I'll post this here for you guys.

I started a new game and I disabled the Devourer Golem from the 697 report and did not see any unexplained threat of any sort, even after sending waves of scouts out.

It looks like the changes made in 3.718 caught everything except the Devourer Golem and with that now fixed for the next release this issue should be done.

Not too intentional, but sort of inevitable at the moment.

Are you sure you can't post in closed threads now?  I'm pretty sure that you can, I changed the permissions around.  If not, do let me know.  But, glad that's working out now aside from the Devourer, we definitely could see the devourer doing it, so that's good.

bomber starships are a bit faster, and a different hull type - polycrystal. Makes them harder to kill from fortress, etc.

I do think however they are largely eclipsed by sieges in their current state, especially with their high cost.

Well, that is true, I want to find a way to differentiate them more at least subtly, but I only have so much extra time and brainpower at the moment.  Ideas in a thread on the bugtracker are welcome..

I can re-open a resolved bug but I can't make a post without reopening the bug. The only options I have are to 'Monitor' and 'Reopen' and the Notes field at the bottom is not present on a resolved bug.

And as the issue is resolved, I don't want to be reopening it.

well, my ideas up there.

Generally, I can see AI war going well from here - generally I'm seeing no more major issues left, just mostly balance and interface issues.
Id say that was certainly a quick turnaround from 3.7...

What about the not-quite-fitting text on the stats and ctrl buttons?
It's just carriers all the way down!

Oh, I see.  I missed that, sorry, but those are great ideas.  Polycrystal will make them harder to kill from fortresses, and extra speed would be good.

Thanks for the kudos, I'm glad it's coming together so well, too.  We have a lot of experience turning things around quickly, obviously, but it's always stressful.

What about the not-quite-fitting text on the stats and ctrl buttons?

Everything that's still in the bug reports list is something we're going to evaluate one way or the other.  That's certainly one to be fixed.

Aww, I think I preferred the homeworld to have 3 blobs instead of 1 (well, 2 in effect, since only 2 raised AI progress).  made it more strategically interesting to have to defend 2 bits instead of 1.
