I just downloaded the beta a short while ago, and played about an hour or so. Overall, I like what I see, but the way mouse zoom works now is starting to get annoying. I suppose the difference is that in the old engine, one turn of the mouse wheel would immediately move the screen once zoom increment closer/farther, while in the new engine, one turn makes the screen slide fluidly into the new position. While not a bad thing for slow zooming, this starts to get clunky if I want to zoom in or out quickly.
This isn't a game breaker or anything, but it turns something that should be almost unconscious into something I have to fiddle with. Adjusting the zoom sensitivity helps, but doesn't fully resolve the issue. The main problem is that the game will keep zooming even after I've stopped turning the mouse wheel, which makes it difficult to be precise when zooming. I have to predict how many turns it will take to get to the level I want, rather than just turning until I'm satisfied.
Anyone else find this a problem? It jumped out at me almost immediately; I'm a bit surprised that I haven't seen any other posts about it.
