not sure if this is a bug, while the loop function is still working, the icon isn't actually turning into a loop arrow but remains straight.

Logged in Mantis as a bug
Thanks

Also, is there a way to disable icon grouping? I like my big blob of icons so I can easily make a judgment call on number of units based on quick visual inspection ;)
Check your settings for "Icon Snap Distance" or something similar.

Ah, thats what its called now :)

will check it out, ty
I don't recall having changed the name of the setting, I think it's still Icon Grouping Distance.  Just keep thrashing controls until it does what you want ;)

Oh, hehe :)

I adjusted it once, months ago, must have forgotten everything about it ;)

Nice job on the objectives and ctrl screens. Very much better than the old version. Also, it seems like the star fields look much nicer in the last couple versions. I wonder of perhaps the stars were getting blurred out by the same bug that was blurring the icons? At any rate, the stars look much more like stars and less like snow.

Is there a way to view ship damage bonuses in the beta? The method in this thread doen't work, and the wiki's a little out of date.

Also, this is an older change, but after playing a few games I really appreciate the changes to the engineers! For one it lets astro trains actually have an impact on production instead of being a nearly negligible nuisance, and it makes taking them on raids a bit riskier than just setting them on FRD and forgetting about them.

Will there be a download available for just the music? I'd rather not have to grab another installer for the game just to get the music tracks. I understand if it's too much space to suck up, but I had to ask.  :)

this.

also: congrats on fixing the shot angle glitch. now more info about the lag that I'm getting:

it seems to happen ONLY when there is a large ammount of ships in view. It usually doesn't matter whether they are shooting or not, only that they are there. and during the lag, I should note that the mouse moves at normal speed, and the seconds count as normal. the only time this doesn't happen is when there is additional lag occurring due to something else.

on an unrelated note (well, sorta related): what and where is this mantis thing people are talking about?

How do I install this over the Steam version?

Can I yet?

Agh. Crap. Broke my install.

Anyhow, how do I put this on top of the steam install?

I wouldn't advise it.  There is no steamworks integration with the new version yet anyhow, which is presumably what you'd be looking for.  The new version has pretty much all the files in different places, so putting it on top of the steam version would lead to 400mb+ of wasted space.  When the new version officially hits Steam, it will clean up that stuff for you, though, and after that you can continue as normal with using betas over top of the steam version, etc.
