2.001H works perfectly, we loaded the same savegame under the same conditions and played through to the 3 hour trial limit with no problems at all.
Thanks for the new release :)

Wonderful!  Thanks again for all your detailed stats and suggestions, I doubt I would have found that without your help.  I'll be sure to let the network library author know, as well, so that he can update his FAQ.  And I'll of course be sure to add the credit for you for the fix to the release notes, too. :)

You might try the very latest one, v2.001N:  http://arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,2485.0.html

I don't think anything else has changed since then, but it might be good to see if so.  Beyond that, my suggestions above about using the Shift+F3 to see what is going on with the network when it does would be a good idea; I'm quite surprised that you would have this issue on the later versions in particular, as I'm not aware of any routers that would have an issue with MTU being smaller than 1400.  But, depending on what is actually going on, hopefully either the later versions fix it or we can figure it out with more updated info.

Generally speaking, I'd also suggest making sure that your network drivers on all ends are completely up to date, and that your routers are also updated appropriately.  Every time so far, it's been interaction of some external device or settings or older driver that triggers this sort of issue, so simply making sure everything is up to date (and avoiding Hamachi if that's where the problem lies, or trying Hamachi if you're having problems outside of it), are likely to fix the problem if you're on the latest versions of the game.

Hope that helps!

Ah, okay -- so sounds like if there is an issue, it's with someone's router or something similar, but the encryption and repackaging of the VPN is bypassing the issue.  Glad you got it to work!

Hi!
Me and my friend have these issues to.
We can't select and move more than about 150 ships
at a time or my friend loses the connection (I host).
Later in game this problem starts happen even though
we don't even do something (not moving any ships etc).

We are using the 3.0.6.0 version of the game and also the expansion.

We have tested plying through both hamachi and direct connect,
getting the exact same problems in both cases.

I have a 100/10 Mbit connection and my friend uses a 17/1 Mbit connection.
Also I use Win7 and he uses Vista.

Does any one know a fix for the problem?
Cause it really start getting on our nerves.  ;D

I would suggest taking a look at this thread, which has a wider discussion of this issue:  http://arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,4043.0.html

But, here are the possible solutions:

1. Upgrade to the latest version of AI War and lower the MTU of the game (see the notes in the other thread).

2. Make sure you're on the latest network drivers for your network.

3. Make sure that your router firmware is up to date, and isn't running any QoS routines that could be accidentally interfering with AI War (those that try to "smooth" traffic out can in some cases instead kill AI War packets entirely, it seems).  More info on this is also in the other thread, at least a bit.

One of those three things should work.  Hope that helps!
