Ship icons not displaying

I'm not seeing ship icons when i zoom out (just watched one of the tutorial videos, and saw what it is supposed to look like).

i've set the threshold for icons all over the place to no avail, and currently have it set at default.

any thoughts?

fun little piece of extra info here, when i set the threshold for icons to minimum, you don't see any ships at all at any zoom.

From the sounds of it, it is not "precombining" your far zoom icons correctly.  I am guessing that this is a graphics card driver issue -- you might want to try updating to the latest ones for your card.  Though, I've been warned that the 19x.xx drivers from nVidia are causing problems for a lot of games in general, and this seems to hold true for AI War (depending on the card -- they work fine with my 8800GT so far).  If you are already at nVidia 19x.xx versions, you might try downgrading to something in the 18x.xx range.  Hope that helps!
