IRC - How do I make this work?

Hey all, I know this probably isn't the best spot but WTH, I'd would appreciate the help.

I downloaded java but I get an error every time I load it. Its something to do with security. I have W7.

Any suggestions?

I'd suggest using something like HydraIRC as a standalone client.  The in-browser one is fairly limited, anyhow.
