Round 1, Fight! ;)

I'll try to refrain from nerfing whatever strategies you use simply on the basis that they work. (/glados)

current strategies employ grav turrets under shields and weasels.

That link on the wave mechanics showing the tank give weak attacks and few reinforcements points were why I chose it.

Beam turrets are effective at slamming waves as they exit wormhole.

Devourer golem ensures no excessive buildup.

hmm, I wouldn't want to play with devourer on a 30 planet snake map. Way to much chance he'll put the core/homeworlds on alert, causing it to build up mk V ships which he can't destroy.... plus i don't like the idea of having it roaming around my own systems the whole time near the end of the game.

oh boy, I'm probably gonna have to restart a million times if I'm ever going to make a serious attempt to beat 10/10

Morale broke in the fleet as the admiral, while sitting at his table, stormed away after flipping the table over at word of the gravity rippers.

Game hunting again. Have a more promising one available. This one is with autobombs and has two ARS's and factories and, most importantly, a botnet is 5 worlds away. <Cheesing it up more with no shroud.

Round 3 has started!
Life is short. Have fun.

A little known side effect of the force of gravity is how much rage it causes... ;)

Crap. Gravity Ripper.

Not exactly impossible.  You'll be creating the turret ball of doom to pull it off though.  You'll want heavy econ reserves, max Engi IIIs to push the Science III into operation asap, and a good portion of your fleet hanging ten.  Knowledge raiding is not for the feint of heart.
... and then we'll have cake.

I don't think it will be possible to summon enough firepower to make it worthwhile except with maybe fallen spire. In the time it took to get 150 knowledge from the planet there were 1k zombies swarming.

Fallen spire may be possible for a short while, due to the current game layout. After 80 minutes I managed to knock out a mk IV planet 5 planets from my homeworld. I guesstamate at the 2 hour mark I'll have enough resources stockpiled to cloak in the engineers and colony ships to get there and quickly prop up defenses around the botnet there, before making it. With the botnet and ars and heavy defenses, one city may, may, be possible (doubtful, but even 4 frigates would help if I can't)
Life is short. Have fun.

acquired botnet, rebuilding now.

ars was teleport raiders.

At first I was miffed. But I can use them. When I assualt the ai core worlds I'll establish a beachhead with fleet, then bring in the raiders and port them far away. Fleet will retreat, then the guards will run to the raiders. The raiders will dance around and distract guards. Fleet will return, and attack posts.

So far, so good.
Life is short. Have fun.

A use! The raiders are overjoyed!

A use as bait.  The raiders are over... uh, joyed.

First AI core has a raid engine :(

Maybe a core of bombers IV and a few guards can punch through. But I'm depressed.

What exactly activates a raid engine. Usual ai alert phase of less then 1 starship and less then 50 fleet ships?
Life is short. Have fun.
