Why can I not hold all these updates?!
« on: May 11, 2012, 12:32:18 pm »
I think every day since I bought AVWW, I've had an update, hell, I think yesterday, I had two updates in one day at totally different times. And I just started up now, and ANOTHER update. I like it, but at the same time, I don't. I really don't like those Nightmare Octopi, and I'm scared to find more mobs like them.

Simple. Don't update. They are betas, after all. If you stick to the official updates (which Steam handles automatically, if you're on that service), you'll get one new over several months, instead of multiple daily. That's just the way Arcen works.

And if you don't want them at all, just uncheck the "Automatically check for updates on game start". This would stop you from noticing official updates too though (perhaps there needs to be a second "Suppress beta updates on update check" setting?).

Oh, I don't mean it in a bad way at all. I find it awesome that there are constant small updates. Although, is anyone having issues with the Mechs in the abandoned town areas? I can't seem to kill them online if I shoot them in the leg. Instead of dying, they lock up in one frame of their animations, but still able to attack like normal. And, if I leave the area, and then come back, they become invisible to boot. So now there's an invisible wall spewing death and destruction in the middle of an otherwise clear sector. It seems to only happen if 'killed' by being shot in the leg. Jumping on their head and raining spells into their face has killed them everytime, and lead to me taking like 50 dmg by falling into the explosion. I only play with a friend online, and we've both tried hosting servers but it gets the same result. Undead invisible mechs.

Oh, then it was just my limited english skills that failed me. My bad. As for the undead mechs, if you can reliably reproduce it, please bug report it in the bugtracker (link in my signature) with reproducible steps.

Apparently, the recent patch, .016, has fixed it. If it has, yay. If not, I'll take some screenies of the undead mechs. As for reliable methods, just shooting one is reliable enough. They lock up almost everytime.
