Rescue Suvivor

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but how do you rescue survivors?

Move one of your resistance members to the survivor's tile, and at the end of the following turn they'll rescue the survivor (assuming they didn't have to knock down an evil outpost on that tile first) :)

We're working on the interface currently, to make this sort of thing clearer.

I could have sworn I'd tried that.

You may not have waited long enough.  It doesn't happen on the end of the turn they arrive, but on the end of the following turn (moving consumes the first turn).  And if there was an evil outpost on the survivor's tile, that has to be knocked down first.

OK, that's where I was messing up.  I didn't wait another turn after moving a survivor to the region.  Thanks for the clarification!

Glad I could help :)  As I said, definitely working towards an interface that, you know, tells you stuff (like this) ;)

I'd like to second the need for clarification in game on this, as I was going to ask the same question  :)  Maybe rescuing a survivor should be a mission instead, and work like other mission types.  That might be a little bit less confusing.

It used to be, but currently they're working on making this system work and giving your more indication of how it's working.

I've been running through the region looking for the survivor myself. I've got to stop assuming that I know how things work from AVWW1. I was convinced I was somehow missing a secret door somewhere that would lead me to them.

That's exactly what I was doing at first.  I must have gone through the same building ten times looking for a door or passage I missed.

You were actually looking for the survivor in sideview?

I feel like we've sent a regiment of testers into a valley filled with disinformation mines ;)

Well, you rescued survivors in sideview in Valley 1.  Then I remembered in the first part of the game about how you can't recruit people personally because your reputation is so bad.  But then I didn't see a mission, so I didn't know what to do.  Just curious, what was the reasoning for changing that away from being a mission?

Well, you can actually find survivors if you look for them in sideview.

They just tell you off and wish a pox on you. Which when you think about it, seems like a fairly silly thing to do to the (as far as they know) powerful, immortal henchmen of the big boss.

Ah nevermind.  I see that instead of missions, the survivors just do things based on what tile they're on.  I think I actually like that more.

Yep! I think the issue is just that it's not quite completely polished up yet, so the game doesn't do an excellent job of informing you yet. I'm imagining that's coming later, some kind of express in-game way of letting the player know what's going on and how to do this stuff (unless it's in. I don't think it is)
