Looks really nice.

The only thing I don't like is the opening quote as I don't feel like it represents the game very well.
(Sorry, I had to find something to criticize.  :P )

Other than that I like it!  :D

Thanks!  I think it's our best one yet (and I had no hand in it, really). :)

No worries.  But you'd be surprised just how much people lit up at PAX with that description to start them out with.  We learned a whooooole lot about how to explain this game to folks while we were at PAX, because we had to explain it to easily 1-2 thousand people in the span of often 10 seconds or less... and if they were interested they'd want to hear more, etc.  The whole "super nintendo on steroids" thing grabbed a lot of folks enough to make them want to hear more.

Given that turned out to be overall our most effective "first hook" to get people to at least listen to a slight bit more about the game, when a Nick said that about the game it was our obvious first quote. :) And several other reviewers have said similar things, even on RPS.  Basically that it's kind of like the lost future that we might have had if consumer 3D hadn't come along and supplanted all the 2D games for a couple of decades. ;)

Awesome! Just "liked" it on YouTube.
Who edited this all together? It looks really good.

Also, how did you get those scenes and scrolling "areas" without the character on screen? Developer "black magic"?

EDIT: Oh yea, and I loved the music in the trailer too.

Kevin is his name. I believe he is a friend of Erik's.

Honestly, I'm not sure how he did that, it's no developer cheat that I'm aware of.

Yep, Kevin Harland: http://kevinharland.com/

Friend of Erik's, and did pretty much all our trailers for avww since may or so of last. At first heavily consulting with Erik; and then lately not much at all that I know of. Really sharp guy, quite a good AVWW player, and also a great eye for composing these.

And yep, the invisible panning was he intersection of two dev tools. One of which isn't useful outside of this purpose in videos, hence Josh's not having noticed it.

The music grabs my attention most as I just like that tune. :P

Also, one thing I would have noted in the trailer would be something like Terraria had on it's page (and still does even though it is no longer updated), which is "Free Content Updates".

Free stuff always lures people in, but I am sure you can write that in the Steam Page if you ever wanted to. :)

Overall, glad I heard about this game back in the AI Wars days, but only decided to buy it 3 weeks ago after decided between this or Minecraft.

Keep up the good work guys and I hope to still be playing this even when I am a Pokemon Master (my main objective in life now, even though I only have like 30 out of 600+ now).

The final copy for sites like Steam and such does mention the content upgrades.

Woop! And the trial version will probably entice people to try it when it shows up seeing as Steam are lacking in demos so much nowadays.

Demos of games are always helpful I'd say, and Steam certainly could do with more of them.

I caught almost every BW regional pokemon (half a dozen left to get, or thereabouts) but to be a real pokemon master, I need to catch every pokemon ever!

That is my overall aim except the event ones which you can't get in any game, but I realised I need to get a GBA game for some Legendary Pokemon, so now I need to add Pokemon Emerald to my list of things to get as well as Heart Gold or Soul Silver and Platinum.

Hoping my friend will also help me out with some on the opposite versions, but if not, then I will find a way!

Plus with Black and White 2 out later in the year, I dunno whether to evolve Pokemon now or evolve them on the next games. So many choices...

...just like the hundreds of choices that Arcen Games gives us in AVWW!!! (trying to move back on topic before Arcen Games yells at me for going off-topic- :P)

You could go get an Action Replay as well to get the event pokemon after you've caught everything you can legitimately.
