Cannot disable gamepad reticle - help please

I am using a gamepad but targeting with that reticle is horrible so I've mapped my mouse to my Logitech gampad.
Leaving the box unchecked in the system menu still doesn't turn off the reticle.

I suspect the game might be confused because it detects that I have a gamepad plugged in yet don't want to use the reticle.
Is this something that I might be able to edit in an ini file?

Right now, there isn't a way to disable this. If you're comfortable using Mantis, this would be a good feature request to go in there, otherwise let me know, and I'll drop it in there for you.

I also thought that if I could turn off gamepad support somehow and just map all of my gamepad to the keyboard keys that might fix the problem as well.
