0.102 Alpha Testing Notes

As usual, put in a lot of things into Mantis. Here's more of a few notes that weren't Mantis-esque.

Love the new combat UI. Much more efficient use of space.

Miss having the building bar up on the top left though. Not a big deal. The enemy still has his, so not sure why you took out ours (except that it is duplicating information in the bottom left).

Not sure if I should put in suggestions for sound effects, since I know they're not done. But, some useful sound effects would be:

1. Ship completed building

2. Mothership first blood drawn

3. Ship under attack - alert each time this happens after no such occurrence in N game frames?

4. Mothership ends it's command queue

5. Mothership shields low, down, hull low

Like the more low key stellar backgrounds. Easier to see gameplay elements.

Still not any good at strategies. I destroyed all the enemy's support ships in one game, and still lost despite having several (non-interceptor) support ships and my mothership attacking his mothership.

I do think some of the strategies in this game for the battle part are a little obtuse at first.... at least that was my experience, it took me a bit to get the hang of things.  Granted, I normally dont do that many real-time strategy type games (except for still learning AI War) as I usually play turn-based ones.  But still.

Unless of course you use a cheese strategy, and there do seem to be a few of that sort that are effective right now.

Agreed on the UI and such too.  And aint run into hardly any bugs either....
