I do not have any problem with people taking multiple turns, especially since they go pretty fast. I think this game works well with the unstructured approach for turns compared to something like DF where you need days or weeks to take a turn. If the game is claimed by someone else, you can always come back a few hours later to get it.

Since the game is not claimed yet in a post here, it is still up for grabs for whoever wants it!

Maybe we can try something more structured in the next game, after this one is finished.  :o :)

Version 1.021

57th III Proto 3012
Ahh, Is it that time again? The time between my periods of control are growing shorter, Perhaps I am simply getting stronger. Or Maybe my brothers are getting weaker? Only time will tell I suppose so lets get to the business of saving what’s left of this universe once more. Thoraxians are murdering the IcePigs, Definitely cant have that time to pop in and say hello.

Now that, that unpleasantness is out of the way. Off to visit my favorite group of scientists other than the crazy evucks for a bit of Research, always know more than your enemies

Also Helped the Acutians with Tech

And why are there so many prisoners aboard my ship, They deserve not the space they are taking up Off with all of them… Soo many peltians, it will take me months to get this place clean again.

Now that the ship is Scoured of all of the peltians, I realize that Burlust Warlords have been a little free with their outright slander against us and are in need of a lesson once again.

And with their lesson learned we are left with the thoraxians being the odd man out and maintaing their hatred of us, therefore I Basically fly over to their planet and just empty our cargo hold into their atmosphere causing them to thank me for some reason… I honestly just considered their world to be a trash can at this point and had realized somebody had filled our cargo bay with more stuff than I can count and Wanted to get rid of it.

22nd V Thermo 3013

Other Notable Events:
Also sold or returned other prisoners, Andors sent public aide to universe, Destroyed a Pirate Base following my salvation of the Boarines,Brokered a couple trade routes, Bought more security guards, Assisted Boarines with Ship Building, burlusts still being attacked, evucks declare war on acutians, rented out our outposts to peltians and skylaxians, and am helping develop a vaccine for the peltians,Hired Thoraxian Diplomat

Just wanted to do a quick one and keep the game moving forward. Here’s some charts.

Jumping in for a couple of hours

 = = =
Each waking is as rude as the last. We've been brought in orbit above an ice dwarf. The complex around our ship is vast, but eerily empty.

Cognition comes to me slowly as I survey the berth. ...broad corridors and low-hanging ceilings...  ...a pile of what appears to be war spoils... ...atop sits one large burlust skull, meticulously cleaned... ...no guard, however...

...beer dispenser. Bingo. Its faint neons illuminate a small herd of Boarines, no doubt exchanging tales and minor hyperboles. The war I fell sleep watching must still be going on.

Now to the notes. They're somewhat messier than last time, and the dates make me a little concerned. I bury those thoughts immediately.

"Peltians offloaded. No pets allowed! - GreyTalon"
"Acutians stopped by. Showed them some non-essentials."

I pen a note to remind myself to take some more servants. Despite having multiple heads, a Hydral can feel a little isolated in space.

38 X Helia
Ho, there seems to be some ruffled feathers. I'm going to have to intervene in their little madness

56 X Helia
Having cruised through the wreckage of the peltian armada and pick up a whole new army of servants. The andors and evucks are suitably impressed at my ship's prowess, and I leave them some of the scraps to train their target practice. Also managed to negotiate some paradoxic Andor-Peltian trade routes in the process. It's a wonder how the bird-brain assembly make their deals sometimes.

20 XVII Ultra
Keeping the races alive is hard work! Each Burlust transport is about as virulent as a whole city's worth of deadly viruses, and I don't particularly feel like replacing the Acutian's Lx_A infection with big, red, angry ones. Those ones replicate.

84 XX Ultra
Yeah... inviting isn't it? I'm getting a little sick of shepherding.

...come to think of it, maybe I could discreetly remove that note about taking care of everyone.

There's some bugs that's blocking progress somewhat, Peltians are invading everyone... :P It's all fixed now.

 = = =
12 IX Helia 3014

Sleep comes upon me again. After browbeating some trade chairpeltians and CEObots into a potential arrangements with the thoraxians, some thoraxian prisoners were promptly returned to show my goodwill on Hari and guarantee the safety of the incoming trade ships. However, her Majesty insists on her craving for Boarine flesh. The meaty little creatures are too delicious for their own good.
The treaty may be fragile, but perhaps it's a way to avoid a future invasion that I'm getting tired of interdicting. I set a ship on an autopilot course around the Acutian planet, distributing Lx_A vaccines and a few other security upgrades. The peltian prisoners will help distribute them in my slumber, and hopefully there will not be another opportunistic attack in the mean time.

Low orbit is as close as I can get to reliving our memories blue.

When you have the best tactical space support by far, it follows your armies will win if the space forces are allowed to pursue their powers to their logical end. :)
Life is short. Have fun.

What is the situation with the warlords? Did you kill another secondary? Who was the retaliation attack against?

Once you have air/space superiority, you pretty much own the planet already by logic. Unless the defenders are underground (Thoraxians)  ;)

Nice work everyone. Who wants next?

As far as I'm aware the retaliatory was against the Acutians, which I caught mid-flight - two images I did show them and the thoraxians loading up a single armada to send. This should have finished, so that you can start a new duel as soon as you get in.

I'm considering advocating that their ground-combat penalties to toned down, and a dispatch added to assist the planetary defenders in space bombardment support (like the offensive equivalent but assuming you've already dealt with the space armada, but still need to deal with the ground one).

If either one of these Burlust or Thoraxian ships get to their destination, the defenders are toast.

 = = =
In response, the Peltians sent out a large contingent each to three different planets (Andor, Evuck, Burlust) without actually declaring war, and proceeded to reinforce them a couple of times. I was only OK with them fighting the Burlusts. Logs should show me pumelling about 18 armadas worth over several battles, which was 2/3s of their naval assets. Andors and Evucks did not immediately withdrawing some of their armadas to defend, which would have been nice. Space assets are mobile for a reason.

I'll have a go at it hopefully soon, as soon as my arm stops feeling like someone jumped up and  down on it.

Good to see this still continuing.

Hmm, nobody has done this yet?

I'm still in no state to do it myself.

What I've been playing alot of recently.... well, "alot" considering the stupid pain and my low patience.... is World of Tanks, and.... well, the3y're freaking tanks.  It's not a super fast paced game, and since you have to be reeeaaaalllllyyyyyyy careful with your aim, there's little actual clicking since you're not exactly spraying shots everywhere.   Even so, if I were to do that for like, 30-40 minutes right now, there might be the need for the damn ice pack afterwards.   Dont like using that.  It's cold.  Hate all cold things.

And setting up a controller for this one is just too annoying.

Yeah, its been a little slow around here lately.

I am hoping we can keep it moving so we can come closer to conclusion before the expansion alpha starts. I might have time for a turn next week where I focus more on advancing instead of writing.

Whatever we decide to do, new players or previous players are welcome to take a turn.

I'm still in no state to do it myself.
Misery, take care of your health, this is not a big deal.  :)
You could play solar map and dispatch only if you want to avoid a huge amount of clicking. Even though I know you like the SHMUP aspects the most.

Allright, I might have a go at this over the weekend here if I remember.   Gonna have lots of free time, pain is mostly in control, and while I havent had a chance to try out this most recent patch yet, it looks to be the one that might fix the core problem I have with the game.

One way or another I'll probably be playing a bunch of it over the weekend, so it just is indeed a matter of me remembering to have a go at the succession game here.

Though still, surprised nobody else had a go in the time since the last one...

Hey Misery, give it a go anytime, or whoever else wants to play can claim it too.

I have been super busy and was hoping other people would pick it up. At least we have a few more weeks until the expansion beta starts. I hope to take another turn next week if I can find the time.

I have the save. I will be trying to work on it over an extended period if necessary. Let me know if anyone has a desire to get into it and I will post my most recent save. Save is posted now, but I will come back at some point unless someone else does.

Version 1.030

12 IX Helia 3014
The mind of a Hydral is a complicated thing… so many competing needs and desires. I wake up a final time with a renewed vigor. This slumber has been longer than before. Out combined consciousness seems to have lost its sharpness, our minds floating in the void without interaction in the physical plane. This takes the form of a martial trance of sorts, where time flows at a normal pace within the Hydral’s mind, but no time passes in the real world.  This ability allows for Hydrals to achieve great feats of mind or body, but has the dangerous possibility of losing oneself to the void. For if the mind cannot return to the body, it can be lost forever in the depths of a dream. Luckily, with seven heads, at least one can rise again, and so I return, stronger and more driven than before. I will create this Federation, and I will destroy anything that gets in my way!

The Andors, Peltians, and Evucks hold the most power. I will focus on fortifying them and leave the others on the fringe until the ideal moment. I share all Andor tech with the Peltians to buff their relationship. The Peltians then share it all with the Skylaxians.

25 II Proto 3015
There is now a clear bloc of tech and military leaders, while the Burlust warlord homeworld is under siege. I get in on the action to compound the pain. The current war situation is unfolding quite nicely.

The Andor Samaritan party currently rules. I use their kindness to buffer relations and help reverse the negative medical situation on the Peltian homeworld.
I begin a joint manufacturing outpost construction with the Peltians, and mid construction, the Acutians join in on the anti-Burlust action.
With the completion of construction and some additional tech and aid transfers, my initial Federation is near inception.

33 V Thermo 3017

The Federation is formed between the Andors and Skylaxians!
The Peltians are soon to follow, as they are so good at doing. They are happy to fall in line with a powerful federation made up of their friends.

Now I have the three strongest space powers in place, the others should be soon to bend to my will.

A plot on Stella Lyrae has been brought to my attention. I have a choice. I must betray the Skylaxians trust or over 2 billion citizens may die, over half the population of the planet… the price to join my federation must be paid. I will wait this out without intervention.
The battle rages on over the Burlust homeworld, now with shiny new ship exteriors.

38 XIV Pyran 3018
I decide to answer a Peltian freighter distress call and spurn the Skylaxian Bio-terrorist plot quest. This gains me credits and lots of materials to distribute to grateful races at a later time.

17 XVI Ultra 3018
I take my leave… for now. With a three race federation.

The save is up and available, I will probably dodge in again at some point soon, but anyone who wants to can take it for now. The good news is that we have three strong races in the federation, but we have a long way to go still.
