Its getting kinda late here PST. I was looking forward to trying this out tonight, is the original 15th release date still going to be met?

My estimate is in about 30-60 minutes, it will be out.  We're cutting it close, but we will be on the 15th PST.  Sorry for the wait -- it will be worth it!

We're doing what we can. :) The amount of work that's gone into this, particularly over the last few days, to get this all together for today is pretty staggering. I'm quite happy with how it's turned out and hope it'll be up very soon for you guys to try out. :)

Okay -- it's out.  The store link is here, and we've majorly expanded the online info section, including putting up the download links for windows and mac.

I still need to put up the official post about it, but wanted to let you guys know asap since you were waiting on it.

Someone was impatient ;)

Very interested, it's crawling down my internet connection as we speak, and then I'll install, fire it up and start bug hunting and having fun (as much as i can with the demo anyway)!

Our goal is to have all of the features implemented in about a month and a half -- as to when specific features will be coming online, I can't say for sure.  I had wanted to have network play in for the start of beta, but with our switch to Unity that meant a whole new networking model and networking stack, so in order to implement networking I'm going to have to learn their stuff as well as actually doing the implementation.  I've done a lot of prep work for that already, and it looks like it will be something I can get done in the next two or so weeks, but it just depends on the overall schedule -- we're constantly adjusting and re-prioritizing to make sure that we get the entire project done in as timely a fashion as possible!

(Chris presses the large red "Release" button)

(Loudspeaker kicks in)

Incoming Complaints in 3... 2... 1...

ack, no network play! nooooo!!!

;)

But yea, network play was on the beta list, but that would have been a bridge too far in the timeframe with the platform switch.  But it's on the list :)

I was going to check this out and send my support, mainly because I like ai war so much that I want to fund the venture... but I can't find it on steam. Where is it?

It's only on our website, for the time being.  We haven't announced which other platforms will be carrying Tidalis at launch, but today has been... a day of good news on a lot of those fronts.  I can't say anything more at the moment, but we'll have official announcements coming out gradually over probably the next month.  And yes, given our choice, that whole thing of registering games bought elsewhere on... certain third party websites that have their own keys... is something we'll do our best to make sure happens with Tidalis, too.

GamersGate will probably have the beta up sometime next week, from the sounds of it.  For the other partners of ours, the timing will vary, and we haven't gotten confirmation that all of them will carry Tidalis yet at all (but enough of them have confirmed it that hopefully they all will).

Many thanks for your support!  You can always wait until it comes out on your platform of choice if you aren't interested in being part of the beta, too -- we really don't mind it one bit.  A lot of the publicity for this game is just getting started, and is going to build towards a July official release.

All right, that's cool. I might wait for your steam release, just because the majority of the games I own I use steam to play them. It's really convenient to organize this way. You can count on my support once it shows up. Good luck. ;D

If Steam does carry Tidalis, we'll try to get the same setup we have with AI War where you can use your game keys from non-Steam places so you can activate the game on Steam as though you purchased it there, so players who really like Steam and can't wait can still have it there. I can't make any guarantees, but we'll certainly do what we can!
