Small nitpick: the blocks go away when 3 or more are lit up, not 2 >.<

I don't think he was counting the initial block. Hitting two blocks, then, would mean there are three in the chain. I think it's also probably clear to readers based on it being a Match-3 game. :)

Anyway, neat preview. It's great to see more coverage of the game!

Yeah, Phil contacted them, which led to that.  Very cool!

I still rather chafe at the "match 3" label, as that typically means something else.  But, hey.

xomg i just learned it is also for the mac! One more thing, i don't know if you said this before but why is it hard to get a review from websites like these? Is it because they don't know or unwilling to try or try half heartedly?

Well, so far we are not allowing any sites to review Tidalis, as the game is not yet done; so it's previews and other advance coverage only for the moment.  But, in general it is very hard to get reviews for indie games because there are so many indie games that come out every year, and there's a big time investment for the reviewers in doing even just one review.  Mostly they want to have the reviews that will drive the most eyeballs to their site, and which thus help them stay in business through advertising revenue, etc.

That said, AI War was among the top-reviewed games of 2009, indie games or otherwise, so clearly these sites also make exceptions for games that they hear good things about, or know about the developer of via past games.  So we'll see what happens with Tidalis -- which is in the over-saturated puzzle genre, which makes reviews even harder to get to some extent -- but based on our success with AI War, and all the connections that I've built up through that, I think we'll do okay.  We just aren't even soliciting reviews until the game is done, for obvious reasons.

I know about this game, because it was previewed on Gamezebo. I loved what I read and bookmarked the name in my head. Gamezebo  is the place game lovers go.
Yesterday I searched for the game and downloaded it. It easily updated form 0.803 to 0.850.
I don't mind it is beta. I plays fabulous. Couldn't wait any longer to give this game a try.

I love this game. Only minor is that the text at start of adventure is not so clear. It is as if I forgot to put my glasses on.
The text on the in between scenes are much better, though not perfect.
Another thing was the bumpy-jumping bat in the puzzles. But I kicked the totem out of the forest and that was the end of that. Now I like to play and soon decided to get a license.

Thanks for a great game.

Thanks for the nice comment Gerda.

Makes it worth it for Arcen Games if anyone have fun with our games. (And kick Pickles' bum!)

It's true the text looks blurry during the Adventure start. Going to check it out.

Thanks again! :)
