Tidalis allows conflicting game modes
« on: August 07, 2010, 07:44:53 am »
Graviton and featherweight.

Featherweight seems to win out and graviton is ignored but the level icons still show both as being in effect.

(Edit: I should mention, this is v1.0)

Yep, this is expected and something we designed for. All modes can be combined with all other modes, and conflicts are resolved in as interesting a way as we could.

In the case you mention, graviton still causes the blocks to fall faster, while featherweight is governing the movement of the streams.

Don't worry, we thought of this! It's not one of the more interesting combos, but it does work sensibly at least. :)

Oh, I missed that! The thing is, I was using zen as well when I noticed this issue so... graviton did not appear to have any effect at all :)

So if I were to enable all the modes simultaneously, I can still expect to see a level of sophistication?  :D
I'd take a sea worm any time over a hundred emotionless spinning carriers.

Ah, okay -- no worries!

And yes, we have done testing with all modes on, and they each add something, but in my opinion that's not a very fun meta-mode. Waaay too much goin on. Generally 2-4 mode combinations seem to be the most interesting.
