Many thanks, I actually didn't know when or if that was going to show up :)  And goodness steam is swamped right now, took a fair while to load.

Didn't see a specific achievement/changed achievement like the AI War one though - can see the other games coming though!

The achievement is showing in steam with 14.6% of players completed:

Summer Swimming Hole
Create A Combo At Least 6 Deep

It's a rename from one of the combo depth achievements that shipped with the game.

It was originally Deep Diver Mk I (which is still what it's shown as in-game).

Is this working? I seem to be able to set off a 6 deep chain and not get it. Are there conditionals? Particular mode, particular puzzle difficulty etc?

So far as I know it's working -- I am not aware of any conditionals.  Perhaps you already have that achievement, since it's not a new one?  Remember that a six deep combo is different from six-long chain.

What has to happen is:

Clear some blocks in a chain
[stuff falls]
Clear more blocks in a chain that was started from stuff falling (this is combo level 2)
[more stuff falls]
Clear more blocks in a chain that was started from more stuff falling (this is combo level 3)

Etc, up to combo level 6.  You will see a big x2, x3, etc that's popping up as you go.  Just wanted to make sure that it's clear we're talking about the same thing, as I'm sure there will be others along that are thinking chain rather than combo even if that's not what you meant. :)

My bad on the terminology but yes, I'm seeing the 6x float up (and 7x in one case) but not getting the achievement and no, I don't already have it (just checked). I've done this in both brainteaser mode (set up a custom puzzle, which is cheating, but I'm a small person when it comes to free stuff ;)) and then in a custom action game (which I'll confess I set to only two colors, again I'm a very small person sometimes :D). In neither case did it trigger. If "massaging" the system doesn't generate it that's fine, of course, but if that shouldn't matter then I'm not sure what's going on.

Edit: It's worth noting that I've accidentally generated some other achievements (like Block Sweeper 1) while doing this, so it's not that those aren't working.

I think it might require all the colors, but then again if you're getting Block Sweeper 1 but not the others then that can't be it.  I'll confess I'm terrible with combo depth myself.  I'll flag this to Lars to get his input. ;)  But this is one of those things that has been in the game since forever, and hasn't changed, so I can't imagine any reason why it would suddenly be broken.  More likely than not there's something that isn't being met that I'm just not able to tell you.

That's completely fair, I just figured I'd ask. If something WAS broken I wouldn't want you guys getting clobbered by angry Steam users, and if it's not (and surely it's not considering the age of the achievement) then there must be something going on we're not getting.

Maybe it requires all six colors AND self-created puzzles don't count?

I appreciate your assistance, regardless. :)

You should earn achievements at the end of the current stage, and can earn them in any mode except the test mode in the level editor. Simply completing a combo that is 6 levels deep should do it (which may not be the same as seeing x6, depending on how we eventually made white blocks affect score; I can't remember off the top of my head and will check later). You can use any game mode or number of colors. If you're using zen mode, you need to use the cup icon on the top right to end the stage.

If you're still having trouble, I can help out more later tonight, or you can check the Tidalis Steam forum where there is additional discussion.

Thanks for the response. I'm not at all sure what the issue is, then. Here, I'll attach the puzzle in question (obviously solved simply by clicking the lower right corner red block).

Edit: OK, well, got it with the custom game with 2 colors after all, in that instance I hadn't let the level end. Still not sure why the custom puzzle didn't work though. Regardless, thanks for the help all!

Glad that got it working!  Perhaps Lars will have further insight later, but at any rate glad that did it. :)

I wonder if it's not triggering when a lot of achievements fire at once. I used the uni-color map to breeze through this as well, and it took me 3 or 4 tries to get it to work. Many other achievements were firing at the same time.

Another possibility is that the combo actually has to complete before it triggers the achievement. Using a single color map is likely to start a chain that just goes on and on under its own steam forever, so I was just ending it after 25x combos or so. When I finally made a tiny map and let it run until it finished, that was the round that I got the achievement.

That would do it -- not having a chain/combo finish. It has to actually finish to register. Having a lot of achievements hit at once should be fine in the game itself, but if they are flooding steam hen there might need to be a resubmission when tidalis is restarted.
