Title: Backing up Tidalis data
Post by: SnoringFrog on July 15, 2011, 11:02:05 pm
Where can I find the Tidalis save files so that I may back them up? I'm probably changing computers soon and I would prefer not to have to lose all of my progress when I do so, but I can't figure out where the save file is or how to back it up.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\tidalis\RuntimeData\Save\Adventures

Check out this location. Typically, I just backup the entire steam folder when I migrate computers and add-in these kinds of files. The folder should be less than 500 MB, trivial for a flash drive.

I could've sworn I'd checked that Runtimedata folder a few times already, but somehow I never saw that "Save" folder >.<

I would have been safe either way because I was backing up the entire steamapps folder, just wanted to be sure on Tidalis since it was the only game I'd invested much time in that I couldn't confirm a save location for.

Thanks for the quick help!

I also suggest backing up your settings.dat file, located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\tidalis\RuntimeData\settings.dat, but if you're getting all of steamapps, it sounds like you're good to go. The game's data is all kept in its game directory.

settings.dat contains license key, game settings, stats, and achievements information.
