Original: http://arcengames.blogspot.com/2014/04/tlf-version-1001-released-bugfixes.html

Version 1.001 is a small release that fixes a few bugs that slipped past all 165ish of us who were testing (hey, it's a huge game) and which adds support for screen resolutions larger than 1920x1080.

Starting next week we're going to be releasing at least one new free feature every week for at least a few months, if not longer.  A quest, a new weapon or ability, a new ship, a new action... something.  We'll vary it up, and make it fun.  I'm really excited about expanding the game even further, as large as it already is.

Support for the game has been overwhelming so far -- as you can probably guess by the Steam top sellers charts -- and we're really grateful for that.  We're mostly trying to rest and recuperate this weekend (particularly tomorrow, that being Easter), but wanted to go ahead and get these key things out to you sooner than later.

Enjoy!

This is a standard update that you can download through the  in-game updater, or if you have Steam it will automatically update it for you.  To force Steam to download it faster, just restart Steam and it will do so.

These news make me such a happy person :D! Also my heartfelt congratulations, you earned it.

Thank you very much!  It's certainly something that is making me extremely happy, too.  Looks like we might have a new AI War-like franchise on our hands, although it's too early to say.  Skyward Collapse started strong and then petered off.

TLF is currently vying closely for #1 launch of ours with Valley 1, which had an incredibly amazing launch.  Right now TLF is in #2, but not by a whole lot.  And that's without a large banner rotation on Steam for TLF, with extra competition in the store, and without as much press coverage on the actual release day (we knew we'd be sacrificing that by releasing when we did, but it was a calculated risk based on the extra time on the Steam storefront).

And that's just the Steam numbers.  Humble is doing well, GreenManGaming has not launched yet, and I don't yet have any idea what Gog.com is doing.  So... I'm a relieved guy.  Today is the first day I've taken off in about two months.  It was also the third time I've left the house (my yard excepted) in the last three weeks.  The other two times were brief trips out to Sweet Tomatoes with my inlaws, and that was it.  PC Gamer thinks I might have a time turner, but the truth is a lot more mundane. ;)

Looking at the numbers, after less than 1 day we are about 10% of the way to breaking even on the creation of the game, which I'm pleased with.  By this time tomorrow, TLF will likely have outsold the entirety of all Bionic Dues sales to date.  That game just never really got discovered as it seemed to deserve to, but I'm really glad TLF is connecting with folks so well.

Knock on wood, hopefully this continues; it's been a rough year.  Or years, depending on how you look at it.  And I could definitely use a reprieve from some of the finance-related stress.

This is such a unique twist one the genre that I think it will do quite well. I have a feeling it might even be copied by some bigger dev houses.

If by copied, you mean destroyed.  Games as unique as this tend to not end well when cloned by bigger name studios, because they don't want to take as big a risk with it.  They cut features, dumb down gameplay, and make it casual.

Thanks for the update! Also, very happy to hear the game sales are doing well. It's well deserved after all.
My only problem with the game so far is that the title screen's music is so awesome that I end up spending quite a bit of time just listening to the music there instead of playing.  :P

Good to hear that the game has made a promising start. Hopefully when the press starts coming out, that will further boost sales. You've definitely earned a few days off!

Noticed the Forum and Mantis feedback has greatly increased, hope x4000 doesn't get overwhelmed.
I think x4000 should sticky the Update Threads, just like he does in the AI War Section.
PLEASE REPORT FEEDBACK TO MANTIS IF YOU WANT THEM TO SEE IT!

Just give your games more polish. Bionic Dues lacks a bit in terms of sound effects and graphic polish. So far tlf seems great, lets see how I figure out what race to ally myself to.

Currently the #3 best seller there. So, it's doing just fine. :)

Yup, I'm hoping it's gotten off to a fairly good start...

That's on the UK version of steam. No 'big banner' yet, but still. As long as Arcen rake in enough money to fund the next AI war expansion I'm happy, as ever ;)

That is great! I seriously hope they can afford some basic game design and visual element design courses now.
