Mining inefficiency?
« on: April 21, 2014, 08:19:54 am »
I wanted to build some mines, but the cost seem way too high to make sense. Like 7500 recources, for a +10 per month return (!).

So it would take 750 months (or 37.5 years) just to get back the recources you invested to build the mine, before you even see any profit at all.

Or is this just another problem, where the tooltip is incorrect and the actual increase per month is higher?

During the alpha stage, a lot of timing of things swung around pretty wildly. Planet actions that were efficient one day might easily become inefficient without noticing. I personally don't remember much talk about mining, so it's possible that it wasn't an action a lot of the testers were really paying much attention to. It's very possible that the numbers are way off with it.

I suggest putting in a ticket on Mantis http://www.arcengames.com/mantisbt/main_page.php with your findings.

It's very possible the tooltip might be off too, but either way, it's still a problem.

Also, if you "mine uncolonized moon" you, yourself, get 10 resources per month, but the civ gets 100.

I have yet to find a resource I can sell on the black market.  They won't take Xenotime or Cesium.
