Strong Federation too hard

My experience so far with the game is that the Federation with the Skylarkians, Andors, and Throraxians is much much easier to get than the Burlast/Acutian/Thoraxian Federation.  It's almost impossible to get them to trade, and the "Improve relations" option isn't a feasible way to get them to like each other.  Also the Burlast wont stop attacking the other 2.  Has anyone been able to get the Burlast Federation?

I found Burlasts hard to get into the federation, indeed. Either I have to subdue them or get the other "strong" races in first.

Regardless, your federation already needs to be in good shape before you start trying to get the Burlusts in. So work on making your federation stronger, and eventually they will come around one way or another. If they don't...just remove them.

You pretty much have to bully them in. Strong federation I've found doesn't -actually- require both races listed, I've seen it open up with a Federation of Andor/Acutian/Peltest.

Then you pretty much have to duel for dominance. Or spend a lot of cred on blackmail and gossip, or a lot of time running pirates for bribe material.

Hmm... Maybe it would be possible if burlust liked the other warmongering races more/respects the races who conquer planets? So like, if thoraxians and acutians are being dicks, burlust would like them more and more eager to attack weaker races first?

Well, with attitude buildings this is very possible in new version...But still very hard...

I was TWO influence points with burlast short of creating strong federation. The they conquered a planet and formed solar axis pact with thorlaxians and conquered the system.

Argh, I was so close D: But yeah, I'd say that biggest problem for strong federation isn't them fighting each other(you can just direct them to fight races they can't win but can't lose to either) but them forming solar axis pact when they finally win the war and are buddy buddy with each other =/
