The very first thing I did booting up the game was go into the options and make sure everything was to my liking. Was already set to the right resolution and refresh rate, so didn't have to touch much there. Only thing I did was turn off v-sync.
Next thing I see is the games path over shooting the bounds of the box its meant to fit in. Just a small cosmetic problem.
I hit save to get out of the options menu and then press advanced start. A warning pops up telling me that its not suggested on the first play through, so I go back and hit quick start. Leave the difficulty levels at normal and start the game.
A read through the small amount of story that there is, and get to the tutorial. Most of it was pretty self-explanatory. I start shooting enemy ships with the weapon that is suggested when you mouse over the ship. Shields go down, and I try out the other weapons.
I was slightly confused when a weapon with a lower DPS did more damage to the ships hull then a weapon with a higher DPS. I then read the weapons descriptions. It explained that one weapons was better against shields, one against lightly armored targets, and one that can hit multiple ships in a line. Explained why the weapon with the lower DPS was doing more damage VS hull.
I win the battle after 5-10 minutes, and then get to the galaxy map.
That's as far as I have gotten so far.
In summary, small cosmetic problem with the games path in settings.
Weapon uses slightly confusing at first if you don't immediately read the descriptions.
