What? You mean... Are you officially part of Arcen now? Or else... I don't get it. Why did you have to quit your job?

Haha, no, I did this as an independent contractor.  I left my job for other reasons.

My go-to tactic at this point is to just fly past the sphere and hit it with the mass driver. Afterwards I use a special ability like you said to clean up the residue shots (which can still damage the ship...intentional?)

Lingering shots still hurt. ;)

And no, I think Misery was talking about the artillery turret.  I really fiddled with that one after I got it.  Same basic idea that I was passed, but I changed some things around.

Ok, so it is intentional. Good, it adds a new dynamic to the combat, i.e. you can't just do the "rush in, dock, rush out" tactic. That's what killed me the first time :P

Never trust a turret designed by a velociraptor.

Never trust a turret designed by a velociraptor.

Or well, really anything I design.  I'm always looking for ways to subvert the obvious answer.

Yes, the artillery turret is the one I meant.  With the big explosion.

Though apparently the sphere one (or part of it) was adapted  from my "Road" pattern that the Obscura Disc uses?  Or at least I'm relatively certain that's right.  Or something. Or do I have that wrong? I wish my memory wasnt so freaking awful.

As if that damn Disc hadnt been annoying enough though.  I dont care if that stupid ship in the first expansion was my design, I really ended up disliking it. Bloody stupid idea.  I'm going to try to be very careful to not do that again in Starward Rogue.  Probably.  Someone please yell at me if I do.

But yeah, my role here was very minor.  I just made a turret that causes a huge blast since the concept behind it was requested of me. And then he went and did evil things with it, like some sort of mad scientist I assume, because who WOULDNT want to do that?  Boring people, that's who.

So yeah... all of the evil stuff that may be in the expansion aside from that thing arent my fault :p

I havent had a chance to really mess with it yet though.  But everything he explained and showed of the expansion to me sounds pretty great.

Are you going to maybe contract with Arcen again at some point, Draco?  I bet you could make even more awesome stuff in future expansions/games.

I gotta hand it to you Draco18s.  An excellent job on the expansion.  I haven't found anything specific to criticize or praise yet, but you have managed to get me back into a game I thought I was through with, and that's the point, right?  :D

Fun fact: Both Josh and Keith were originally "just forum members" as well.  The people here freaking rock, and I don't just mean the ones who are already contracting or working with us on a fulltime basis.

I have noticed this :D  This really is a good community.

I think this is the only forum I've NOT gotten into some bloody stupid arguement on.  I mean, I dont argue much as a rule and tend to be pretty passive, but still, it happens from time to time, and alot of forums, well... it's easier to have it happen there than IRL.  I've been on so many forums, but the only other one I go to that is even close to this is the one for what is basically a community of those with autism/aspergers/whatever you want to call it.  But even there, every now and then, rare though it may be, I'll still end up in some idiotic arguement.

Aint happened here though!  No jerks here and nobody yells at me.  These are good facts.  And also rare ones.

....and I'm here posting on it at pretty much the time I should be getting to bed, ugh.  Spent too much time working on a thing, not enough time watching the stupid clock.

Two....two and a half.
This one and Bay12.
The "half" is Dumpshock, as there have been some pretty bloody arguments, and I've been involved, but it was almost never personal.  The few times someone's attacked a poster directly they were swiftly reprimanded and there's been maybe three notable bans.  Only one name I can think of off-hand, but no one really misses Frank.  His ideas/discussion would typically turn hostile and no one really agreed with him anyway.

I know a few posters with signatures along the lines of "Realism? <Blankity> <physical impossibility> <fantasy>" e.g. "Realistic? Apparently, you've forgotten that you're playing a game in which you're a troll firing an anti-equipment rifle one handed to kill a roach spirit" due to some of the fantasy/realism debates that have gotten a little more than heated.

Then...I haven't been active there for a while, mostly due to not having been playing Shadowrun in much longer.

1 never really been involved in arguments on forums mainly because I only tend to frequent steam forums and this although there was a grammar war that went on for a couple of weeks which was more amusing than anything else id put a link to it but appears that its finally been deleted.

2 just wanted to say that I really rather like what you've done with the new hydra tech mission having to work around crazy turrets is way more interesting than the usual mission which just involves me kiting golems around for ages and then mopping up everything else.

This right here!

Just noticed that there is a third page to the feedback form...and a new game mode...oh dear, that's gonna take a bit longer then.

By the way, did you get my PM, draco?

Yeah, I agree with roosterman. We need to add some !!FUN!! to Hydral tech missions. My first time playing had me jump out of the system immediately when I saw the Golems. After a while I stopped bothering even doing the missions since my weapons just cut through them too easily.

The new artillery turret is cool. And brutal. Ripped through my hull very fast. But the animation is so cool!
Spoiler for Hiden:
Haven't seen any of those new hydral missions. O played the new tech race mode, are they aviable there?
And there seems to be no music in the game since I've in the beta. I turned my volume fully up and suddenly the sound effects exploded! Still no music.

Tech race is a nice new game mode but a little PLAIN in my opinion. You will do most of the time researching which is the idle horror of TLF. It didn't bother me quite in the other modes despite still needed (especially in Betrayal). But an entire game mode centered around researching means that you do most of the time in the game NOTHING! Well, idling is of course something but all you can do is to watch the fast forward movements of the other ships. Worse, in this process can happen a lot of stuff that ends negatively and because you are more or less forced to do it, you have to bear with it.
I've stolen or learned every tech I didn't know fromt he other races right at the first 2 years, after that you can only do the idling thing. I think for this new game mode should be a new way to learn techs beside that.
