Part of the fun of TLF is overcomming...what should be impossible circumstances. You are the hydra, the laws of sanity do not apply to you. YOU decide who wins or dies, the other races just do not know it yet.
Life is short. Have fun.

No official announcements until early next week.  And yes we ARE hard at work on Skyward Rogue.  But something... else... has been in the works for a good month+ at this point.  It's not my project, aside from me acting as a sort of distant producer. ;)  But it's cool, and it's for TLF, and this is your chance to sign up for testing early if you want.  Just shoot me a PM if you want to be a part of that.

Mwa ha ha.  And more than that you'll have to wait until next week to find out.  >D

My favorite game studio's director asks me to sign for something secret? Sure! What could possibly go wrong? It sounds like a devil's pact, but if it's the devil that made my favorite-game-ever, I'm willing to sign ! ;D

Yep, I've helped out in a few super minor places, and acted as producer, but other than that it's been all Draco18s on the design as well as coding, HUGELY self-sufficient on that, and then the on-staff Arcen artists.  It's been a joy to see it come together. :)

Foreword: I'm just waking up. Hazy ideas has been settling down during this night. Here they are.

Misery is involved in content creation for Starward Rogue? Draco18s is designing a TLF's DLC? Okay. I'm definitely jealous. But it's fine. I mean, it's awesome, I'm not mad, just a bit jealous. But then I'm determined: I will design an AI War expansion. And I'm deadly serious about it. I had ideas for both lore and mechanism lurking around my head for some times, so I'll develop them further, polish and write them down. I don't know where neither when I will submit this, but I will.

Draco18s? Misery? Hear me? You're awesome. Keep it up.
Arcen? Chris & Keith? (and all the team) You're my favorite studio in every aspect: from the games you make to the link you have to your community. I hope you would never stop creating wonders.

Hah, thanks.  I'd add some sort of witty comment here but it'd just make me sound even more self-centered than usual.

Really though, they make it into a fun experience.  And I was brought in much earlier on SBR than on the TLF expansion, so this time I've been able to suggest gameplay mechanics too, which just adds to the fun.  Even if later I cant remember what half of them are.

I had a very minor role in this thing too, in that I made a horrible turret for everyone to probably hate.   I'd say "I'm sorry", but it'd be a blatant lie.

Draco then tweaked it afterwards, making it either more or less evil, I'm not sure.

Other than that though, I've known of this project for some time now.  It certainly has some pretty nice ideas and content in it, I think.  I'll be interested to see how well it's received and what you all think of the whole thing.  That's one game that I think just gets better and better when more and more options and bits of content are added, kinda like AI War.  I dunno about everyone else, but I cant see this one hitting a point of "too much" anytime soon.  The more, the better.  Like with AI War.

And I'll agree, favorite dev studio is these guys, yep.  Some of my favorite games have come from them.  And it's good to see ACTUAL community interaction.  Particularly with the way they actually take suggestions and such from people... I've only seen a couple of other devs do that.   With most developers, indie or otherwise, they never add anything thought up by the community unless half of said community rambles about it for like 6 months straight; THEN they might consider it.  It's a shame, too.  I think more devs should do it the way it's done here.  If I were to make a game, I know it's how I would do it.

I'd be jealous of me too, if I weren't...well, already me.
That said, I did have to quit my job-of-almost-six-years first. :P

What? You mean... Are you officially part of Arcen now? Or else... I don't get it. Why did you have to quit your job?

You're talking about the defence turret with that spherical attack pattern, aren't you? If so, yeah, good work. Definitely had some WTF moments with that one...(read: died horribly fast :P)

Just use a special ability. If you use it near the epicenter it stops producing shots. It's why I keep an ability with 5+ uses on the quick bar even if I have no need for its active effect.

My go-to tactic at this point is to just fly past the sphere and hit it with the mass driver. Afterwards I use a special ability like you said to clean up the residue shots (which can still damage the ship...intentional?)
